Your 8-Week Environmental Illness Recovery Journey
This is not about trying to do everything at once. Before we try to fix everything, we build the foundations: calm the nervous system, hydrate, move, eliminate, reduce exposures, nourish the body, and strengthen the mindset needed to stay the course.
We begin with the foundations—helping your body feel safer, supporting your nervous system, opening your natural pathways of elimination, and building simple daily practices that you can actually sustain.
Each week, we will build on the week before.
You will learn practical tools to support your body’s ability to move, eliminate, rest, digest, and recover—while also learning how your mindset and daily choices can influence your journey.
Week 1 — Start With the Foundation: Mindset & Your Nervous System
Before we can move forward, we need to help the body move out of fight, flight, and freeze and toward a state where you can rest, digest, enjoy, and recover.
We will explore:
- Calming and regulating the nervous system
- Qigong as a gentle movement practice
- Breathwork and other techniques for relaxation
- Hydration and the importance of elimination
- Supporting lymphatic movement through gentle movement and tapping
- Learning to notice how your body feels before and after these practices
You will also begin your Symptom Checklist and Recovery Protocol Checklist so we can track your progress throughout the program.
Your focus for the week:
Hydrate. Move. Eliminate. Breathe. Notice.
Week 2 — Building Your Inner Strength
We continue with the foundational practices:
- Qigong
- Tapping
- Breathwork
- Hydration
- Elimination
- Gentle movement
Then we turn our attention to mindset.
When you are chronically ill, it can be difficult to stay hopeful and motivated. We will explore simple practices to help you stay connected to your reasons for healing.
You will learn to:
- Practice gratitude twice a day
- Create a personal gratitude list
- Identify your reason for staying the course
- Keep your focus on your health goals
- Use relaxation and full-body awareness
- Create a supportive morning routine
- Use positive affirmations and other tools that help you maintain a hopeful mindset
We will continue tracking your symptoms and your recovery protocol.
Your focus for the week:
Gratitude. Hope. Purpose. Consistency.
Week 3 — Open Your Detox Pathways
One of the foundations of your recovery is making sure your body has pathways to eliminate what it no longer needs.
We will explore the principle:
Toxins OUT Before Nutrition IN
We will discuss the body’s natural pathways of elimination, including:
- Bowel movements
- Urination
- Breathing
- Sweating
- Skin
- Movement and lymphatic flow
We will explore supportive practices such as:
- Qigong
- Tapping
- Walking and movement
- Skin brushing
- Massage
- Other ways of supporting lymphatic movement
We will also look at ways to reduce the toxic load coming into your body, including:
- Personal care products
- Household exposures
- Air quality
- Air filtration
- Clothing and changing after exposure
- Respiratory protection when appropriate
Your focus for the week:
Support elimination. Reduce exposure. Keep things moving.
Week 4 — Food as Part of Your Recovery
Now that we have established the foundations of hydration, elimination, movement, and reducing exposures, we begin looking more deeply at food.
We will explore how to use food to support your health and recovery.
Topics include:
- Creating a foundational, nourishing diet
- Preparing your body and mind before eating
- The “cephalic phase” of digestion
- Creating gratitude and intention around your meals
- Eating with the intention to be nourished, well, and healthy
- Chewing your food thoroughly
- Food combining principles
- Choosing foods that support your individual needs
We will also explore cravings.
Instead of simply asking:
“How do I stop craving sweets?”
We may ask:
“What sweetness is missing from my life right now?”
We will explore ways to bring more enjoyment into your life through:
- Nature
- Flowers
- Birdsong
- Art
- Drawing
- Coloring
- Creative activities
- Connection and joy
We will also discuss alternatives to refined sugar, including appropriate whole-food options and natural sweeteners.
And when possible:
Take a 10-minute walk after meals.
Movement after eating can become a simple and powerful part of your daily routine.
Your focus for the week:
Nourish. Enjoy. Digest. Move.
Week 5 — Supporting Your Body’s Recovery
Once the foundations are in place, we begin exploring additional tools that may support your individual recovery journey.
Depending on your needs, we may discuss:
- Supplements
- Binders
- Lymphatic support
- Epsom salt baths
- Sauna
- Ozone therapy
- Colon hydrotherapy
- Foot baths
- Vibration plates
- Frequency-based approaches
- Hot/cold contrast practices
- Other supportive wellness practices
We will also discuss foundational habits such as:
- Eating adequate vegetables
- Getting appropriate protein
- Including healthy fats
- Bone broth, when appropriate
- Intermittent fasting, when appropriate
- Managing stress
- Optimizing sleep
- Reducing toxic exposures
- Daily elimination through bowel movements, urination, and sweating
The goal is not to do everything.
The goal is to understand the tools available and determine what may be appropriate for you.
Your focus for the week:
Support your body without overwhelming it.
Week 6 — Movement, Lymph & Detox Support
We continue building on the foundational practices that help your body move and eliminate.
We will revisit:
- Qigong
- Tapping
- Hydration
- Elimination
- Lymphatic movement
- Gentle exercise
- Walking
- Stress management
We will look at ways to recognize when your body needs more support—and when it may need you to slow down and rest.
We will continue working with your individual recovery checklist and identify which practices are becoming part of your daily routine.
Your focus for the week:
Move gently. Support lymph. Listen to your body.
Week 7 — Superfoods & Using Food to Support Recovery
We will bring everything together through the power of food.
What makes a food a superfood?
How can you use food to:
- Nourish your body
- Support your natural detoxification processes
- Provide essential nutrients
- Build strength and resilience
- Support your recovery
We will explore how to incorporate nourishing foods into your daily life in a way that is practical and sustainable.
The goal is not perfection.
The goal is to build a way of eating that supports your health and your life.
Your focus for the week:
Nourish. Strengthen. Simplify.
Week 8 — Bringing It All Together
Our final session is about taking everything you’ve learned and creating a sustainable path forward.
We will review:
- What has changed?
- What symptoms have improved?
- What practices have helped you most?
- What have you learned about your body?
- What will you continue?
- What needs more attention?
We will revisit your:
Symptom Checklist
and
Recovery Protocol Checklist
and celebrate the progress you’ve made.
You will leave with a clearer understanding of the foundations that support your health and a personalized framework for continuing your journey.
Your recovery is not about doing everything perfectly.
It is about learning to listen to your body, making supportive choices, and taking the next right step—one day at a time.
Throughout the 8 Weeks
Every week, we return to the foundations:
Hydration
Elimination
Movement
Nervous System Support
Reducing Toxic Exposures
Nourishing Your Body
Mindset
Consistency
You will have ongoing opportunities to ask questions, share what you are experiencing, and receive support as you put these practices into your life.
This is your journey.
We will take it one step at a time.
